Charlie Chapple

Charlie Chapple was born June 17, 1935, in Hope Arkansas to parentage of Henry and Lillian Vine Chapple. Mrs. Lillian Chapple and son moved to West Texas where they spent some time before later moving to Littlefield, Texas in the year of 1937 where she met Earl Givan. They lived in different towns including Roundup, Amherst and other places before moving back to Littlefield in 1942.

Charlie grew up and attended school in Littlefield, and was later drafted into the United States Army in 1958 where he served two years active and four years inactive. After he was discharged, he relocated to Hobbs, NM. After living in Hobbs for some time he was employed with the City of Hobbs in 1964 where he was dedicated to the citizens of Hobbs for thirty-one- and one-half years before retiring December 31, 1995. He was an outstanding employee and was loved by many.

Charlie later met and married Katie M. Jackson in 1968 in Hobbs where they had a happy life. She preceded him in death January 7, 2011. As time went by he met and married Ulawn King Davis on May 26, 2011 in Littlefield, Texas where they had a lovely marriage and enjoyed one another as husband and wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and daughter, several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Charlie leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Ulawn of the home, one son Ricky Chapple, one daughter Beverly Patrick both of Houston, Texas, and two other children that he reared, two boys Gershwin and Ronnie, two girls Joann and Barbara Ann, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
