Clarice Holliman

Our beloved mother, Clarice Vernell Gee Holliman passed away from this life Monday, September 19, 2022. She was 86 years old. Mom was born in Henderson, Texas and raised in Iowa Park, Texas. She moved to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1959 and has been a lifelong resident here.

Clarice was a wonderful person and an amazing Mom. She worked at Gibson’s and the Furr’s supermarkets for 22 years. Clarice loved cooking, sewing, and church. She attended Castel Avenue Baptist Church for over 20 years. Clarice loved her family and often cooked wonderful meals for them when she was able. She loved to travel and go back to Iowa Park to visit her high school friends. Clarice will be greatly missed.

Clarice is survived by her 3 children Suzy Ganaway and Billy of Hobbs, Terry Holliman of El Paso, Texas and Kimberly Lawrence and Charlie of Dallas, Texas. One brother Michael Gee and Debbie of Brownfield, Texas. She has 10 grandchildren Chad, Karen, Krista, Jeramy, Brandi, Elisha, Ryan, Marissa, Keri, and Jenna. She has 26 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Clarice is preceded in death by her parents, Elvie and Mable Gee, ex-husband Clifford Holliman, brother Jackie Gee, Grandson Jeramy Holliman, great-grandson Kolby Valverde and numerous other beloved family members and friends.

A very special thanks to the wonderful, loving caregivers and staff at Desert Gardens for their loving care of her for the past 7 years and to Star Hospice staff and nurses Lisa and Patricia for helping the family in these difficult times.
