Guadalupe Chavez

Guadalupe “Lupe” Chavez, 61, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on Tuesday December 15, 2020 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born on January 22. 1959 in Cuidad Acuna, Coah., Mexico to Felipe and Benedita Chavez. Funeral services will be held 2pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Griffin Funeral Home, family and friends are welcome from 10-2 before the services. Please be advised that due to the governors’ restrictions we have a limited capacity, and masks are required at all times. Lupe moved to Hobbs in 1977 with his wife Maria Chavez. He was very family oriented, loving and supportive. He was a passionate soccer player and fan. His favorite team was the Las Chivas de Guadalajara.  Lupe enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending all the events they participated in.

He is survived by his two children Jose G. Chavez and Rosa M. Aguirre (Angel), grandchildren Alexis Chavez, Jose G. Chavez Jr, Luis F. Chavez, Elizabeth M. Aguirre, Angela N. Aguirre and Daniela A Aguirre. As well as his siblings, Juan Chavez, Carlos Chavez, Jose Chavez, Olga Chavez, Patricia Martinez, Araceli Chavez and Martina Martinez.

Procedding him in death are his wife Maria Chavez, son Felipe Chavez, his parents and sister Maria E. Soriano.

Lupe left a lot of great memories for his family and friends, and will be truly missed by all those who knew him.
