Jimetta Cobbs was born on August 31, 1945, to the late Johnny Nelson and Willie Bell Johnson in Okemah, Oklahoma. She passed into the arms of angels on July 6, 2021, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Jimetta is a long-time resident of Hobbs where she attended Booker T Washington Elementary and graduated from Hobbs High School. She also attended and graduated from The New Mexico Junior College. Jimetta cared for and loved her husband Melvin Cobbs as well as their children. To know her was to love her, her smile, voice and personality could light up any room.

Those who are cherishing her memory forever are her children; Ardell Martin (Joyce) of Texas, Sherry Cobbs, Ella Cobbs (Yvonne) of Washington, Yolanda McGaha (Marvin), Melvin Cobbs Jr., Cornelius Cobbs (Shelly) all of Hobbs, New Mexico, her brother Moses Gilliam of Hobbs, 3 nieces, 14 grandchildren as well as a host of great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Jimetta Susan Cobbs will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
