Jose Hernandez

Jose Ruben Hernandez, of Hobbs, passed into the arms of the angels on January 30, 2021 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was born to Florencio and Margarita Hernandez in San Agustin, Mexico on December 14, 1956.

Jose was a hardworking man, always keeping busy either working in the oil fields or cooking out with his family. A true believer in the American Dream, he came here with nothing and ended up with his own cable spooling business. Jose was very proud of what he had accomplished throughout his life, owning his business, raising his family, and owning his very own herd of goats. He was also a lover of music, playing his accordion and singing, but above all he loved his family.

Jose is survived by his two children Alex Hernandez and Esmeralda Hernandez (Victor Cardoza), granddaughter Alexis Cardoza and his siblings Benito Hernandez, Lionel Hernandez, Erasmo Hernandez, Elena Hernandez, Rosa Hernandez, Rita Hernandez, Manuela Hernandez and Teresa Hernandez. As well as a host of extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Friday, February 5, 2021 at Griffin Funeral Home. Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 PM at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.Please be advised that masks and social distancing will be enforced.
