Jose Olivarez

Jose Olivarez, of Hobbs, entered the gates of Heaven on May 17,2022.

Born April 5th, 1930 to Isidoro Olivarez and Margarita Herrera in Mexico Jose immigrated to the USA as a young child upon which he was given a new birth certificate which listed him as having been born four years later (1934) in Fort Stockton, TX. Throughout his life Jose wore many hats from working in construction and helping to build Lea Regional Hospital in Hobbs, to working in Agriculture that left him with a long-lasting love for growing his own vegetables and fruit trees in his garden. Eventually ending up working for many years in the oilfield and retiring from Poole Well Service after 30+ years of service. While many people will know Jose from his time at work his family will always remember him as the man that loved to dance and sing (in particular to one of his favorite songs Mambo 44), spending time outdoors, going fishing, and tending to his garden, but most of all they will always remember him for the love he had for his family.

Preceding Jose in passing are his parents, siblings, wife Rita Olivarez, daughter Rosemary Naegele, grandson Albert Gonzalez Jr, and great-grandson Kolby Valverde.
Left behind to treasure his memory are his son Hugo (Brenda) Naegele, daughters Betty (Carlos) Naegele Casarez, Cindy (David) Murillo, Norma (Jr.) Hernandez, Margie Valverde (Randy Williamson).

An evening gathering and rosary will be held on May 19th, 2022 at Griffin Funeral Home starting at 5pm. Funeral Services will be held on May 20th, 2022 at St Helena Catholic Church in Hobbs, New Mexico starting at 1:00pm with burial to follow.
