Kolby Joe Valverde, of Hobbs, passed away on March 29, 2022 at his home. He was born January 25, 2000 in Hobbs to Cody Valverde and Jenna Buckelew. A Funeral Mass in his honor will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2022 at St. Helena Catholic Church at 10am, with burial to follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Family and friends are welcome at Griffin Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 5 from 12pm-7pm. A rosary will be recited at 6pm.
Kolby was a quiet young man, who enjoyed greatly spending time with his family and friends. Growing up in Hobbs he played a variety of sports including football, baseball and golf. Most recently his time was spent caring for his two young children. His quiet and steadfast presence was taken from us all too soon.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother Rita Olivarez, great-aunt Rosiemary Naegele and his cousin Albert Gonzalez Jr.
Left to remember him always are his parents, Cody and Jenna, siblings Zachary Valverde, Josiah Valverde, Cody Joe Valverde Jr., and Sydney (Jose) Granados. He is also survived by his two children, Kayson and Za’riah, his grandparents Margie Valverde and Randy Williamson, and Kimberly and Charlie Lawrence, great-grandfather Jose Olivarez, and his Aunts and Uncles Hugo (Brenda) Naegele, Betty (Carlos) Casarez, Norma (Jr) Hernandez, Cindy (David) Murillo and Daniel (Naiomi) Valverde as well as his only nephew Nathaniel Granados.
