Leo Dale Turner, 90, of Hobbs, New Mexico, rode on to greener pastures on January 30, 2023.

He is survived by his son Mark Turner and wife Mellony, daughter Michelle Marshall and spouse Jim Bob, Grandchildren: Mindy McClearen (Carbie), Samantha Pearce (George), Shelby Wilson (Jessie), Alex Wilson (Jayden Galyean), great grandchildren: Luna McClearen, Myles and Eliza Wilson and Kai Pearce.
Leo was born in Kent County, Texas on March 27, 1932. He grew up in the farming and ranching community of Girard, Texas where he graduated high school. Upon graduation, Leo enlisted in the United States Army where he served in Korea. Upon returning, he continued his love of farming and ranching by achieving his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Sul Ross College.
Leo was very much a family man and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He was a little bit stubborn and a whole lot onery, but he loved his family like no other and we were blessed and honored to call him ours.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Elite Home Health (Karen, Evagelina and Jennie), the caregivers and doctors at Covenant Hobbs, and the staff of IHOP for always loving and caring for him as IHOP was his favorite place to eat.
