Manuela Enriquez

Manuela V. Enriquez, of Hobbs, passed away at her home on March 24, 2023 surrounded by those who love her. She was born on November 21, 1937 in Devine, Texas to Gumecindo and Avelina Garcia, one of seven children. A funeral mass will be held in her honor on Tuesday April 4, 2023 at St. Helena Catholic Church at 1pm. Family and friends are welcome on Monday April 3 at Griffin Funeral Home from 11am-7pm to pay respects. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 6pm.

Manuela was a woman with a big heart, a proud mother, grandmother and wife. Together with her husband of over 60 years she raised her five children. She was also a huge sports fan, always supporting the Dallas Cowboys, wearing her jersey on game days, and attending every one of her son’s sports events while he was in school. Manuela always made sure she looked her best when she went out. Her bright spirit and loving heart will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death are her parents, sisters Estella Ramirez and Julie Chacon, brother Leandro Garcia, son Jesse Enriquez and grandson Derick Esqueda.

Left to treasure the memories are her husband Alejandro Enriquez, children Alejandro Enriquez Jr (Christina), Jennifer Enriquez, Lizett Aguilar (Leonard), and Michelle Garcia (Mike). Her siblings Gumecindo Garcia Jr, Maria Garcia, and Anita Del Torro, 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
