Newman Isbell

Newman Isbell, of Hobbs, passed away on December 29, 2021, at his home. He was born August 16, 1942 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Paul and Evelynn Isbell.

Newman was a lifelong horse lover and trader, though he worked several years in the oilfield, he always went back to horses. Newman also loved children, not just his own, but all little children, he loved attending church and was a proud Mason and Navy veteran.

Newman is preceded in passing by his parents and one sister, Charlene Hayes.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife of almost 30 years Joan Isbell, children Mellony (Mark) Turner and Jeffery Isbell. Grandchildren Lacey (Berdall) Grenhalgh, Jeffery Tobin (Nicole) Isbell, Kenan Isbell, Mindy (Carbie) McClearan and great-grandchildren Macklyn Grenhalgh, Kash Grenhalgh, Klaytzee Grenhalgh, and Luna McClearen. He is also survived by his siblings Jerry (Donna) Isbell, Eddie (Kathy) Isbell, Paulette (Roe) Fulgham, and Joellen Jones as well numerous extended family and friends.
