Sally Chavez

Sally Saiz Chavez, 69, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend was born to Jose Gonzales and Lucia Saiz Gonzalez on February 22, 1952 in Carlsbad, NM. Sally passed away Thursday, October 12, 2021 in Hobbs, NM. Sally was a bartender in her younger days and loved dancing and hanging out with family every weekend. She loved family get together and cook outs. When she wasn’t in a crowd, Sally loved arts and crafts. She crochets beenie caps, blankets, purses and flowers. She loved her side hustles and doing girls hair. Sally was easy to get along with and had a lot of friends! She will be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Fernando Gonzalez, Jose Chavez, Carlos Chavez and Jeronimo Gonzalez; daughters Monica Gonzalez and Anita Chavez; 31 Grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers: Joe, Jr., Adolfo, Pedro, Richard and Jesse Gonzalez; sisters: esperanza Quiroz, Rosa Sandoval, Lupe Masiel, Anna Morales, Esmeralda Gonzalez and Isabel Rascon. Sally is preceded in death by her parents, her son Steven Chavez, and brother Ismael Gonzalez.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-7:00PM, Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 at Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Morales to officiate. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Pallbearers to serve will be Fernando Gonzalez, Jose Chavez, Jeronimo Gonzalez, Carlos Chavez, Israel Juarez, Isaac Gonzalez and Juan Gonzalez. Honorary Pallbearers: Jeronimo Jr., Anthony Gonzalez and Gregorio Beltran.
