Shaynell Haynes

Shaynell “Nelly” Marie Haynes, of Hobbs, was taken from this world to soon, at the age of 21, to be in the arms of Jesus. She was born on May 25, 2001 to her loving parents Anthony and Joy Haynes in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Nelly had a beautiful and compassionate soul, with a delightful sense of humor and a drive to help others. She had many friends who loved her, but shared a uniquely close relationship with her mom, Joy and her cousin Makayla. Growing up, Nelly was a sweet and loving little girl, who enjoyed drawing and riding scooters with her Aunt, and attending basketball games with her grandma Elsie. She also greatly enjoyed singing.. As she got older, she continued to grow into the brillant young woman we knew her as. Nelly loved animals, wanting to take in any stray she saw on the street, and she spoiled her own dogs, Buster and Angel with all the love she had. She loved being home with her family, hanging out with her niece and nephews, listening to music, watching TV or just chilling with her Mom. Her wonderful presence in our lives will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Nelly is preceded in passing by her father, Anthony, great-grandmother Lorene Brewer and her paternal grandmother Sue Everidge.

Remembering her always are her mother Joy (Raymond Wright), sister Shaniqua Simpson and her three children Zendyah, Dominic Jr. and Javion Simpson, brother T.C. Pena, grandmother Elsie Hill and her aunt, Lacy Hill. She is also remembered by numerous extended family and friends.
